To quote the philosopher, Sinatra; Dobedobedobedo.

Time is an effect, like temperature, pressure, color and sound. Time is frequency, events are amplitude.

It's just that as mobile organisms, our sentient interface between body and world experiences a sequence of perceptions, in order to navigate.

Emotion and instinct feel the temperature and pressure of the waves building and receding, while perception and logic see and observe frequencies and amplitudes of the quickly receding crests.

The boat is a receding wave.

Initially it coalesced/synchronized out of context, now it's harmonizing back into it.

This whole getting old business is just scribbling on the margins.

Cheers!
