To what extent is it just getting wrapped up in the self? Remember that dealing with other people is often a big reality check. It's only when you get lots of people all wrapped up in the same delusion that things really get out of hand and often that requires a pretty low bar.

Personally I just prefer to plug in as broadly as possible and both appreciate the dynamic and try helping where I can.
