Vahe,
I guess I was assuming it was implicit in comparing it to roads, or blood. The old saying about the Federal Reserve chairman was that when the party got going, he was the one to take the punch bowl away. Nowadays they just add another bottle of vodka, when it gets low.
The issue of libertarianism goes much deeper into Western Culture, as to reality being a dichotomy of organic energies bubbling up, versus civil and cultural structures coalescing in. Liberal and conservative. Much as our personal function is between desire and judgement. The head and the heart. When desire rules, it is anarchy, while when judgement rules, it is tyranny. Consequently we fluctuate somewhere in between.
The problem with the Western paradigm is that it is linear and goal oriented. The bottom line being an example.
Yet reality is more cyclical and reciprocal, from the equal and opposite reaction, to karma. Thermodynamics describes our situation far more effectively than the linear passage of time.
As mobile organisms, we experience flashes of perception, in order to navigate, then narrate our journeys and build civilizations out of the collected knowledge, so we naturally assume this temporal dimension as fundamental.
The actual cause is that change turns future to past. Potential, actual, residual. Tomorrow becomes yesterday, because the earth turns.
There is no ‘dimension’ of time, because the past is consumed by the present, in order to inform it, aka, causality and conservation of energy.
Consequently, while the process churns along from past to future configurations, these patterns rise and fall, future to past.
Consciousness goes past to future, while thoughts go future to past.
Lives go birth to death, while life moves onto the next generation, shedding the old.
Products go start to finish, while the production line goes the other way, consuming material and expelling product.
The feedback being the patterns define and direct the process. Motor and steering.
So energy and form go opposite directions. Galaxies are energy radiating out, as form coalesces in. Cosmic convection cycles.
Our bodies have the digestive, respiratory and circulatory systems to process the energy driving us on, along with a central nervous system to sort through the form/information precipitating out, as well as referee the emotions bubbling up.
A medium is necessarily part of the dynamic, while a store is pattern/mass. Wealth is created, then stored.
Our minds are designed to focus on pattern and tend to ignore process, except as intuition, as it is fuzzy to our thought process. We feel the future coming and see it receding.
Consequently we have to keep learning the End is just punctuation in some larger process, when the paradigm is linear and goal oriented.
Hopefully this clarifies more than it confuses, but I’m just trying to give a short description of how deeply into the current mindset the conceptual conflicts go. As well as some different perspectives, when the debt bubble backing this current mountain of notational wealth evaporates, whatever the libertarians want.
Language is a constant process of regulation, both from above and below. You seem to think regulation is a dirty word, but where would the body be, for example, if it had no regulatory functioning.
Consider that for the Ancients, there was minimal distinction between political systems and the cultures they arose from. So monotheistic religions equated with monarchal and other top down, despotic regimes, while poly and pantheisms equated with democratic and republican systems. Think Athens and Rome. (re;Gilbert Murray) So when the West adopted a somewhat fuzzy form of monotheism, the divine right of kings became the default political system and it was only when we went back to more democratic political systems, that separation of church and state became necessary.
The logical fallacy of monotheism is that a spiritual absolute would necessarily be the essence of sentience, from which we rise, not an ideal of wisdom and judgement, from which we fell. More consciousness seeking knowledge, than any form or brand of it. The light shining through the film, than the images on it.
Conflating the ideal with the absolute is poor philosophy, but effective authoritarianism. Until it does spiral into the vortex at the center. The absolute should be balanced by the infinite. Nodes and networks.
So we do have this top down, authoritarian model, but addressing that issue also goes much deeper than a less corrupted monetary medium.
