We are certainly pushing that profit driven mindset to the point of breaking society.
The issue will be how far it goes before sense can catch it.
Government functions as nervous system while money and banking are blood and the circulation system.
As cells in this social body, we resent government telling us what to do and worship money as the abstract source of our needs. So government has been turned into a public utility, now we need to understand banking also has to serve as a public utility, to distribute value where it is most useful and not just into the pockets of those with the most power.
The banks are having their "let them eat cake" moment.
