We are goal-oriented creatures in a cyclical, feedback driven reality, so while markets need money to circulate, people see it as the signal to extract and store.

While on the surface, the medium has become the message, the tool has become the god, the conceptual issues go much deeper into our relationship with reality and we are going to get a serious reality check, in the process.

One factor goes to how society functions;

Consider that for an antelope running along in the herd, it has to be one with the hive mind, or accidents happen.

While some little critter in the bush has to analyze every rustle of the leaves and every flicker in its peripheral vision, if it wants to live.

This is the difference between religion and science.

You are not going to get the herd to turn, no matter how hard you shout. Those presumably steering them really don't know where they are going either. It's just a matter of keeping the herd together.

Consider The Trump presidency; As a media creation, the Donald served as a useful foil for the media to make fun of the Republican field in 16. Then when he won the primaries, everyone was laughing about how Hillary had a clear path to the presidency. Yet the system wasn't taking into account how all the people who had been walked over for decades might see him as a useful monkey wrench.

So when he won, rather than realizing and admitting they made a mistake, understanding the danger to their system and carefully working around him, letting him act out his narcassistic childishness, then presenting a better alternative in 20, we were subject to a four year primal shriek, by the blob and its sycophants, then this totally bungled effort to make sure an approved candidate won.

Now it's all been declared by religious proclamation to be the cleanest election in history. Irrespective of the proctological examination to which the prior election was subjected, yielding only some troll factory's few tens of thousands spent.

Frankly I'd be embarrassed the Russians didn't put more effort into influencing the outcome, considering what some other nations invested and how much effort we routinely put into other's internal politics.

So now the bureaucracy is back in charge and that is all that matters. The herd is back together and up and running. Printing money out the wazoo is just the cost of doing business. Where it goes is other people's problem.
