We are naturally very focused, linear, goal oriented creatures, with binocular vision and forepaws/hands for grasping. Which does lead us to explore our world in depth, yet it does come at a certain cost in situational awareness. We’ve become nodes disconnected from our network. We extract signal from the noise, but that noise is the networks of the signal. It’s like thinking we can just migrate to other planets, while being so clueless as to the extent we are creatures of this planet. Our inner space is as unexplored as outer space and the ocean depths. If you don’t think so, try pointing out to anyone with a background in physics, that tomorrow becomes yesterday, because the earth turns. That simple point essentially disproves the premise of “spacetime” as the physical explanation for General Relativity.

I used to think other people would quickly find the idea of time as change turning future to past as a useful and enlightening insight, but they tend to react like a certain Catholic priest and future in-law, by crossing himself and walking away, after questioning my adherence to the Holy Trinity, when I pointed out the conceptual fallacy of conflating the ideal with the absolute.

So trying to argue slightly more involved observations, like why money shouldn’t be treated as a signal to extract from the noise of society and the economy, is just not feasible.

Logic comes a distant second to authority.
