We do seem to be going from the gradually going bankrupt stage, to the suddenly stage.

Looking at the military situation in Ukraine and that Western media is starting to backpedal, it looks like some degree of leaving Afghanistan moment is going to happen in the not too distant future, because I suspect these people running things are not so much the sociopathic megalomaniacs they appear to be, but just rats adept at climbing to the top of a rotting pile of bullshit and simply lack the sense of larger awareness to appreciate how fragile the whole edifice has become.

It's like that family whose entire identity is built around flaunting their wealth, but the fancy cars are rented and the vacations are being paid for with the home loan.

They cannot admit to the cancer inside, or those immediately behind them, would depose them. Much like Zelensky can't admit Ukraine is loosing, or he would have a bullet in the back of the head and it would be blamed on Russian double agents.

The hard spot that is rapidly approaching is the mid term elections, in the US. By which time all the rats are going to be running around, pointing fingers at each other, not trying to figure out how to blow up the planet. That would be beyond the mental range of the office politics they live by.

Come next January, the Republicans will be perp walking as many democratic operatives before their committees ,as they can get their hands on, starting with Hunter and eventually reaching out to Hillary.

The Europeans will find themselves left to their own devices, as to the mess being created.

It's that Wiley Coyote moment, where he's stopped out over the edge of the cliff, but hasn't looked down yet.
