We are these mobile organisms and we process, sort and judge sequences of perceptions, as a function of navigation. Then tell stories about our journeys and build civilizations out of the collected knowledge, so we model time as the point of the present, moving past to future, but it is change, turning future to past. There can be no physical dimension of time, because the past is consumed by the present, in order to inform it. Causality and conservation of energy.
So time is an effect, like temperature, pressure, color, etc.
Though don’t try making the point that, ‘tomorrow becomes yesterday, because the earth turns,’ to a theoretical physicist, because that just messes with the math and the math is never wrong.
Since this goes to your efforts to organize reality and I’m one of those old geezers who’ve been trying to do that for some decades, here is a very condensed version of what I’ve learned over the years;
