What drives all this bullshit;
While we view money as a commodity to mine from he economy, it functions as a contract and accounting device, to enable exchange.
As these linear, goal seeking creatures in a cyclical circular, feedback generated reality, people see money as signal to extract and store, while markets need it to circulate. Yet a store is not a medium. Blood is a medium, fat is a store. Roads are a medium, parking lots are a store. The hallway is a medium, the hall closet is a store.
Consequently to store the asset side of the ledger, a debt has to be generated. The secret sauce of capitalism is public debt backing private wealth.
Government, as executive and regulatory function, serves as the nervous system of society, while money and banking, as the value distribution system, serve as blood and the circulation system.
With public government and private banking, the banks rule, since they don't have to plan around election cycles, don't have nearly as much oversight and control the finances of anyone thinking of running for office.
Consequently the only real job the flunkies allowed in office have, is to run up the debt the banks need to function.
Consider the Federal debt has been growing since the New Deal, so not only was Roosevelt putting unemployed labor back to work, but unemployed capital, as well. Then WW2 came along, as the greatest public works project in US history and the die was cast.
Basically the military industrial complex is the trophy wife of the banks. It burns off all the public debt without empowering any sector that might question rule by the banks.
The problem this creates is that as government is the decision making function, rule by the banks has all the strategic aptitude of bacteria racing across a petri dish. That is why all our military misadventures are so monumentally inept and no one is held responsible, just given cushy jobs in some sector of the swamp.
Given there is no real moral responsibility attached to these fiascos, the stage actors have devolved into psychopaths. Basically delinquent children with matches and gasoline to play with.
Now it appears they are starting to grow bored with poking Russia and the new game is waving fists at China, for allowing the bankers to ship all our manufacturing over there.
It would make an interesting movie, but no one would take the plot seriously. Who wants to watch a movie about how dimwitted people can be?
