What gets overlooked is context. The infinite stands in contrast to the absolute. Everything versus nothing.

Consider that clocks slow and rulers shrink in a moving frame, so the frame with the longest ruler and fastest clock would be closest to the equilibrium of the vacuum. The unmoving void of absolute zero.

So space is like the number line, from zero to infinity.

Time is just an effect, like temperature.

We are mobile organisms, so this sentient interface between body and world functions as a sequence of perceptions, in order to navigate. Which creates the effect of this flow of the present, from past to future.

The reality is that change turns future to past. Tomorrow becomes yesterday, because the earth turns.

There is no literal dimension of time, because the past is consumed by the present, to inform and drive it. Causality and conservation of energy. Cause becomes effect.

Energy is "conserved," because it is this fluctuating presence, creating time, as well as temperture, pressure, color and sound. Time is frequency, events are amplitude.

So the energy goes past to future, while the patterns generated go future to past. Energy drives the wave, the fluctuations rise and fall.

Consciousness also goes past to future, while the perceptions, emotions and thoughts giving it form and structure go future to past. Though it is the gut processing the energy and feeding the flame, while the head just sorts the information.

Making consciousness like energy and thus causal.

Galaxies are the energy radiating out, towards infinity, while the structures coalesce in, towards equilibrium.

Between black holes and black body radiation.
