Currently our central bank has the option of saving the banks, or saving the dollar.

When they eventually blow up the dollar, the states will be the only ones stable enough to issue other currencies.

Then foreign policy is between California and Texas.

Meanwhile global warming has made much more of Russia livable and their main problem is Chinese moving north.

Europe will have returned to feudalism, to protect their towns from the roving gangs, armed with machine guns and RPGs, left over from all the various military misadventures and all the industry long since gone to more viable locations.
