What if it’s an idea that’s simply outside the box?
For example, I’ve argued that we look at time backward. As mobile organisms, with a sequential process of perception and a narrative based culture, we assume time to be the point of the present moving past to future. Even physics codifies it as measures of distance and correlates it with measures of distance, to come up with spacetime.
The reality is that change turns future to past. Tomorrow becomes yesterday, because the earth turns. Potential, actual, residual.
There is no literal dimension of time, because the past is consumed by the present, to inform and drive it. Causality and conservation of energy. Cause becomes effect.
Different clocks can run at different rates simply because they are separate actions. Think metabolism.
So time is an effect of activity, like temperature, pressure, color, sound. Think frequency and amplitude. Ideal gas laws correlate volume with temperature and pressure, but they are not called the 5th and 6th dimensions of space, because they are only foundational to our emotions, bodily functions and environment, not the sequence of thought.
Safe to say, any physics discussions where I’m not outright banned, my intelligence is questioned, yet no one offers a coherent rubuttal.
I have various other disputes with convention, but this, I feel, is the most clear cut.
Here is an essay where I’ve tried to string various thoughts together;
