What if it's due to inherent fallacies built into the culture?
The solution would be to go back and try debugging the software, not just push the reset button.
Western culture assumes the network emerges from the nodes interacting, from atoms to individuals. Yet it should be pretty evident the nodes are every bit as much a consequence of the networks. Organisms and ecosystems.
To the extent society forms a larger super organism, government, as executive and regulatory function, amounts to the nervous system, while money and banking serve the function of blood and the circulation system.
Yet with public government and private banking, the banks rule and the only real job the flunkies allowed in office have, is running up the debt the banks need to grow metastatically.
Bacteria and neoliberal economic operate on the same infinite growth model. the problem is when they hit the edge of the petri dish. the advantage of multicellular organisms is being able to sense and navigate complex situations.
The essence of a healthy society is collective responsibility, with rights as reward. When rights are ordained and responsibility is optional, the situation is necrotic. The bacteria rule.
As these linear, goal oriented creatures in this cyclical, circular, reciprocal, feedback generated reality, people see money as signal to save and store, while markets need it to circulate, so Econ 101 refers to it as both medium of exchange and store of value.
In the body, blood is the medium, fat is the store, as well as bone and muscle. Roads are a medium, parking lots are a store.
As a medium, we own money like we own the section of road we are on, or the air and water flowing through our bodies. It's a public utility, like roads.
To store the asset side of the ledger, there has to be a debt to back it. So we create the illusion of near infinite wealth, all based on debts that will not be repaid. The billionaires are the Tyrannosaursus Rex of the age and that 34 trillion in US federal debt is the meteor. Debt doesn't matter, until it does.
Can you start to see the degrees to which it all ties together, but we have managed to isolate ourselves?
