What if knowledge is inherently a rabbit hole, a feedback loop spiraling around some prior assumption? It would certainly explain much of the chaos being generated by our modern culture.
Consider that as these mobile organisms, this sentient interface our body has with its situation functions as a sequence of perceptions, in order to navigate, so our experience of time is as the present moving past to future. It's the basis of culture and civilization as narrative. Physics codifies it as measures of duration.
Yet the evident reality, for those of us dealing with nature on her own terms, is that activity and the resulting change turns future to past. Tomorrow becomes yesterday, because the earth turns. Duration is the present, as the events come and go.
There is no dimension of time, no time traveling around the fabric of spacetime, because the past is consumed by the present, to inform and drive it. Causality and conservation of energy. Cause becomes effect.
Different clocks can run at different rates simply because they are separate actions. Think metabolism. That society connects us using the same languages, rules and measures, it might seem there should be one universal flow of time, but it's rabbit time, turtle time, etc.
Emotions like boredom and excitement are our internal clocks interacting with external rates of activity.
Energy is conserved, because it manifests this presence, creating time, temperature, pressure, color, sound. Frequencies and amplitudes, rates and degrees.
Ideal gas laws correlate temperature and pressure with volume, but we don't confuse them with space, even though they are as foundational to our emotions and bodily functions, as sequence is to thought.
The energy goes past to future, because the patterns generated come and go, future to past. Energy drives the wave, the fluctuations rise and fall. No tiny strings necessary.
Consciousness also goes past to future, while the perceptions, emotions and thoughts giving it form and structure go future to past. Though it is the digestive system processing the energy, feeding the flame, while the nervous system sorts the information, with the circulation system as feedback in the middle.
Galaxies are energy radiating out, as structure coalesces in, so basic dynamic.
The information, the signals we extract from the noise, are what resonates and synchronizes with our prior beliefs, knowledge, models, maps, etc.
Then we bond to those on similar wavelengths.
So information naturally coalesces. Becomes dense and structured. Specialized.
Yet like those aforementioned galaxies, much energy is radiated back out. Just as much noise is ignored in our quest for the signals.
Yet we can't do it any differently. Too much information and the signals are lost. Whiteout.
An objective point of view is an oxymoron. No omniscient omniscience. Though don't tell the monotheists or the mathematicians.
Ideals are not absolutes.
These informational focal points, maps, schools, religions, codes, creeds, are like centers of gravity. Yet there are multitudes of such points scattered across infinity. All radiating excess information/noise/energy around and interacting, in an overall harmonizing effect.
So it would seem the nodes are the synchronization, while the networks are the harmonization. Organisms and ecosystems.
