What if the foundational premises of Western Civilization are flawed?

As mobile organisms, this sentient interface our body has with its situation functions as a sequence of perceptions, in order to navigate, so our sense of time is the present going past to future.

It is the basis of culture and civilization, as narrative and history. The human store of knowledge is based on this progressive accumulation of information.

Yet the evident reality is that activity and the resulting change turns future to past. Tomorrow becomes yesterday, because the earth turns.

There is no dimension of time, because the past is consumed by the present, to inform and drive it. Causality and conservation of energy. Cause becomes effect.

It's a bit like a geocentric cosmology, seeing the sun rising in the east and setting in the west and basing one's models of reality on it.

We are these linear, goal oriented creatures in this cyclical, circular, reciprocal, feedback generated reality and our "go forth and multiply" model is reaching the age of the petri dish, so it might be time to come to terms with the circularity of it all.

Though it is evident the old model will have to crash and burn, before many people will be able to think outside their boxes.
