What if the next big paradigm shift is time?

As mobile organisms this sentient interface our body has with its situation functions as a sequence of perceptions, in order to navigate, so our sense of time is the present going past to future.

Given it is the basis of our thought process, it is foundational to culture and civilization, as narrative and history.

Yet the evident fact is that activity and the resulting change turns future to past. Tomorrow becomes yesterday, because the earth turns.

It's like trying to figure out how the cosmos swirls east to west, before realizing the earth is turning west to east.

There is no dimension of time, because the past is consumed by the present, to inform and drive it. Causality and conservation of energy. Cause becomes effect.

It's like a tapestry being woven of strands constantly being pulled from what was woven.

Energy is conserved, because it manifests this presence, creating time, temperature, pressure, color and sound, as frequencies and amplitudes, rates and degrees.

The energy, as present, goes past to future, because the patterns generated come and go, future to past.

Energy drives the wave, the fluctuations rise and fall. No tiny strings necessary.

Consciousness also goes past to future, while the perceptions, emotions and thoughts giving it form and structure go future to past.

Suggesting consciousness manifests as an energy. Though it's the digestive system processing the energy and feeding the flame, while the nervous system sorts the patterns, signals from the noise.

Thus the intellectual tendency to focus on the patterns, rather that the much more fleeting processes generating them.

The future cannot be predetermined, because the act of determination can only occur as the present.

To assume that all causes are in this presence must mean the future is ultimately determined requires there to be some overall framework within which this activity is occurring, but the models and maps break down over infinities and disappear at zero.

Include all the information from the territory into the map and any signal is lost back in the noise. Whiteout.

That we are products of billions of years of evolution on this little blue dot might mean many of our responses are instinctive, but that is because we are far more integrated into this biological strata than our reductionist thought processes can fathom.

Flies have very fast reaction times, because there isn't much neurological hardware and software between the senses and motor functions. That is because our neurological abilities are not necessarily about initial responses, but learning to be better informed the next time.

Galaxies are energy radiating out, as structure coalesces in.

Our knowledge accumulation works on a similar dynamic, in that what signals we pick from the noise(ambient energy) are what resonates and synchronizes with our prior knowledge, beliefs, assumptions. Which is a centripetal process, of building on initial premises, like the grain of sand at the center of a pearl, or the sapling around which rings of the tree build.

The problem is that initial idea originates from our least knowledgeable state.

Which also applies to how culture and society evolves, with each generation building on and adding to what the previous generation, ring of the tree laid down, going back thousands of years. Think religions.

Consequently the beliefs can only be patched, not falsified.

Epicycles were brilliant math, as a model of our view of the heavens. The crystalline spheres were lousy, physics, as explantion.

It would seem the same system still holds, that the evidence is fit to the models, than the models being seriously questioned.

Especially the more people that are involved.

Consider that if intergalactic space were to expand, according to the premise of spacetime, the speed of the light crossing it should increase, in order to remain constant.

Instead, two metrics are being derived from the speed and spectrum of the same light.

Given it is an expanding space and not tired light theory, the speed is still the denominator.

One way light does redshift over distance is as multi spectrum packets, as the higher frequencies dissipate faster.

Though that would mean a wave front is being sampled and the quantification of light is an artifact of its absorption and measurement. A loading, or threshold theory.

Imagine how that idea would go over among the high priests of science.

Waves all the way down.

Energy all the way up.

We are the complex little feedback loops in the middle.
