What if we are really just skating on the surface?

Politically, every society that ever existed has had those enforcing cultural norms and those seeking to transcend them. Conservative and liberal. Head and heart. The anarchy of desire, versus the tyranny of judgement.

The fact is that not every acorn gets to be an oak tree and colleges should be teaching rhetoric and logic, not grievence studies, so people can develop and argue for their position, not assume they are rights, to be defended with temper tantrums.

Religiously, a spiritual absolute would be the essence of sentience, from which we rise, not an ideal of wisdom and judgement, from which we fell. The fact we are aware, rather than the details of which we are aware. While social structures are organized top down, they evolve bottom up.

Economically, that money is the social contract enabling mass society to function, not a commodity to mine from it. It is an economic lubricant, not a fuel.

A medium is not a store. Blood is a medium, fat is a store.

Sometimes you have to really step way back, because most of it really is bs.
