What is the wave? Is it just patterns? Why are they dynamic?

They rise and fall, therefore come into being and cease to exist. What generates them?

It seems the same problem exists with consciousness. Since it can only be defined in terms of how it expresses, it must be an effect of the patterns generating it.

The problem is trying to explain those patterns. They have been chasing down strings as the basis of waves for decades, but all they seem to do is spiral ever further down the rabbit hole of infinite patterns. Therefore everything must be information.

Not trying to convince you, just pointing out why I am willing to turn the coin over and see if it makes more sense from the other side.
