What modern physics has overlooked is the issue of time.
As mobile organisms, this sentient interface our body has with its situation functions as a sequence of perceptions, in order to navigate, so our experience of time is as the present moving past to future. It is the basis of culture and civilization, as narrative and history. Physics codifies it as measures of duration.
The evident reality is that activity and the resulting change turns future to past. Tomorrow becomes yesterday, because the earth turns. Duration is this presence, as events form and dissolve.
There is no dimension of time, because the past is consumed by the present, to inform and drive it. Causality and conservation of energy. Cause becomes effect.
Different clocks can run at different rates simply because they are separate actions. Think metabolism.
That culture is about synchronizing society as a larger social super organism, using the same languages, rules, measures, it might seem there is one universal flow of time, but it's rabbit time and turtle time and the turtle is still plodding along, long after the rabbit has died.
Energy is conserved, because it manifests this presence, creating time, temperature, pressure, color and sound. Frequencies and amplitudes, rates and degrees.
The energy, as presence, goes past to future, because the patterns generated go future to past. Energy drives the wave, the fluctuations rise and fall. No tiny strings necessary.
Consciousness also goes past to future, while the perceptions, emotions and thoughts giving it form and substance go future to past.
The digestive system processes the energy, feeding the flame, the nervous system sorts the patterns, signals from the noise, while the circulation system is feedback in the middle.
It's bit like trying to explain the heavens going east to west, before understanding the earth turns west to east.
Even galaxies are energy radiating out, as structure coalesces in.
The problem with modern, conventional monotheism is that ideals are not absolutes.
Truth, beauty, platonic forms are ideals. The core codes, creeds, heroes, narratives at the gravitational center of every society are ideals.
The universal on the other hand, is the elemental. So a spiritual absolute would be that essence of sentience, from which we rise, not an ideal of wisdom and judgement from which we fell.
The light shining through and animating the film, going past to future frames, rather than the stories playing out on it, going future to past.
Morality is not an absolute, given it couldn't be transgressed, if it were. Like a temperature below absolute zero.
Morals are the ideals, the creeds, beliefs, behaviors that enable a healthy society. Traditionally that one's status and value being a function of what one adds, not what one can extract. Which is why modern culture is so necrotic in so many ways.
Though it's only been a mere 3000 years since we went from mostly tribal societies, to nations of hundreds of millions of people.
So the problem is how to incorporate that fact that perception is a function of one's point of view, into that ever larger society. What are the reference points, the gravitational center that not only make large societies work, but also enable them to harmonize across multiple such cultures in a planetary ecosystem.
Especially given that the larger the group, the lower the common denominators required to encompass everyone.
One is the node, oneness is the network.
Synchronization and harmonization.
Reverberations and resonance as feedback in the middle.
The music is more real than the matter.
