What seems to be overlooked is the issue of time.
As these mobile organisms, the sentient interface our bodies have with their situation functions as a sequence of perceptions, in order to navigate, so our experience of time is as the point of the present moving past to future.
The evident physical reality is that activity and the resulting change is turning future to past. Tomorrow becomes yesterday, because the earth turns.
There is no "dimension" of time, because the past is consumed by the present, to inform and drive it. Causality and conservation of energy. Cause becomes effect.
Energy is "conserved," because it manifests this presence, creating time, temperature, pressure, color sound. Frequencies and amplitudes, rates and degrees.
So the energy goes past to future, because the patterns generated come and go, future to past. Energy drives the wave, the fluctuations rise and fall. No tiny strings necessary.
Consciousness also goes past to future, while the perceptions, emotions and thoughts giving it form and structure go future to past. Suggesting consciousness manifests as an energy.
Yet it is the digestive system processing the energy, feeding the flame, while the nervous system sorts the information and the digestive system is feedback in the middle.
Even galaxies are energy radiating out, as structure coalesces in, so it is a fairly basic pattern, hidden in plain sight.
Given Western philosophy tends to be focused on the node, from atomism to individualism, while Eastern philosophy tends to focus on the networks and connections, more yin and yang, than God Almighty, would modern physics have been more a field theory, with particles and quanta emergent from the entanglement, if it originated in the East?
Ultamately we need to be able to understand both sides of the coin at the same time. When to focus and when to chill.
As for this current cosmology, if space actually expanded, the speed of light would have to increase proportionally, in order to remain CONSTANT!
Instead, two metrics are being derived from the same light. One based on the speed and one based on the spectrum. If the speed were being used as the numerator, it would be a tired light theory, but as an expanding space theory, it's still the implicit denominator. So back to the drawing board on that one. The Webb will keep finding mature galaxies as far as it looks.
One way light does redshift over distance, is as multi spectrum "packets," as the higher frequencies dissipate faster, yet that would mean we are sampling a wave front and quantization is an artifact of the absorption required to measure it.
