What we need to understand is that while it's politics all the way down, it's economics all the way up. Like the head versus the gut. When they become disattached, the economy breaks down to a more basic level and politics dissolves into propaganda and corruption.

As the executive and regulatory function, government is analogous to the central nervous system, while money and banking are analogous to blood and the circulation system.

As both developed out of personal efforts, they started as private enterprise, but government has since transitioned to being a public utility, while banking remains private. Which give the banks more power, as politicians have to work around election cycles.

The function of banking is as an accounting function, to allow effective transfers of value around the economy, but without government being able to control it, it has become a siphon to pull all value into its own pockets. Basically the banks are having their, "Let them eat cake." moment.
