What! You mean they aren't a bunch of pedophiles??

Like the Catholic Church?

You are really only scratching the surface.

Consider that democracy and republicanism originated in pantheistic cultures. The family as godhead. The Romans adopted a monotheistic sect as state religion around the time the Empire was solidifying out of the ashes of the Republic. Basically the Big Guy rules.

To the Ancients, monotheism equated with monoculture. One people, one rule, one god. Christianity was the original globalization movement.

So basically all of Western culture is founded on a mindfuck.

Now it wasn't entirely for malicious reasons, given the alternative seemed to be constant war between the various factions trying to resurrect the Roman state.

Yet the logical fallacy is that a spiritual absolute would be the essence of sentience, from which we rise, not an ideal of wisdom and judgement, from which we fell. The light shining through the film, rather than the images on it.

So the effect has been pretty much all movements to rise in the shadow of monotheism seem to require their ideals to be universal, rather than merely convenient and useful.

Frankly morality is certainly not absolute. It has to be learned the hard way. Karma.

Reality is this polarity between synchronization pulling everything in, as harmonization equalizes out.

Nodes and networks, organisms and ecosystems, particles and fields. Between black holes and black body radiation.

As this sentient interface between our body and its situation, we fluctuate somewhere in the middle, while our centralizing belief systems tend to have us spiral in toward the totem in the middle, but once you cross the event horizon........
