When the pendulum truly swings from greed to fear, it's not the bankers and CEO's in charge, but the oligarchs and warlords.

The problem is that while other countries have had a few thousand years of cultural ups and downs, the US just has history's greatest growth spurt and even the credit cards can't keep that going forever.

We have rights in our DNA and founding documents, but it's responsibilities that get society through the tough times.

People in this country complain life has no meaning, or purpose, but that's what responsibility gives you.

Without the ups and downs, it's a flatline anyway.
