Which is not a totally bad idea, as people experience money as quantified hope and politicians live and die on the hope they inspire, so there is tendency to go for that sugar high and damn the hangover. There is a lot of history to it, though the Fed is actually more a private consortium of the banks, as much or more than a public institution. It's an interesting topic to explore.
A lot of it goes much deeper into the collective psyche.
