Why would we even assume there is some objective reality? Presumably there is no omniscient omniscience and our perception is very much a function of our points of view and the very limited information we extract. Otherwise it would be total whiteout. Excess signal reverts to noise.
My sense is the biggest problem physics has, is trying to use sequence as a given.
We are mobile organisms, so our sequential process of perception is logically due to having to navigate, but this narrative flow, from past to future, is an effect of change turning future to past. Tomorrow becomes yesterday, because the earth turns.
There is no literal dimension of time, because the past is consumed by the present, to inform and drive it. Causality and conservation of energy. Cause becomes effect.
Which makes time an effect, similar to temperature, pressure, color and sound. Time is frequency, events are amplitude.
Ideal gas laws correlate volume with temperature and pressure, but we don't call them dimensions of space, even though they are foundational to our emotions, bodily functions and environment, just not the sequence of perception.
Energy is "conserved," because it is the present. As present and process, it goes past to future, while the patterns generated go future to past.
Energy drives the wave, while the fluctuations rise and fall, so any information derived from the energy is not synonymous with it, as they go opposite directions of time.
Much like consciousness goes past to future, while thoughts go future to past. Though it is the digestive, respiratory and circulatory systems processing the energy, "feeding the flame," while the central nervous system sorts the information. Signals from the noise.
Thus the tendency to think in terms of order and chaos, rather than energy and form.
To the extent everything is just waves generated by energy, they tend to either synchronize, or harmonize.
One being centripetal, the other centrifugal.
Black holes versus black body radiation. One spreading out to infinity, as the other coalesces to equilibrium. (Eye of the storm.)
Organisms synchronize, while ecosystems harmonize.
Lasers synchronize the waves, ambient light harmonizes them.
So everything is a constant balancing act and feedback between these two sides of the dynamic.
Admittedly, to me, physics is more about not getting too hurt, too often, than experiments and equations.
When to focus and when to chill.
