You might want to study up on how much notational wealth is actually being traded and wagered around, relative to the size of the tangible economy.

As I pointed out that it functions as a medium of economic exchange, analogous to how blood circulates energy around the body, I am aware of how money functions and its purpose to society.

My point, if it isn’t obvious, is that for various reasons, both conceptual and emotional, far more has been pumped into the system than is healthy.

Time will tell.

““what if our bank accounts could be an umbilical cord to community assets”.”

I case you haven’t noticed, a rather small fraction of society has managed to tap into that umbilical cord and use the power it affords to leverage as much as they can out of society. Whatever you may think of the ethics, it is seriously politically destabilizing and the blowback will eventually be larger than the system can suppress.

So would it be wise to have a discussion about how society and the economy function, or just let the rioters and the police decide?
