You seem to take the first part of the sentence out of context of the second part.

Think of the constant as a compass, while wandering in a maze. Fluctuations around the median.

The problem is that Western thought tends to be monist. Even dialecticism is more about finding the synthesis, then considering the coin has two sides.

Think of reality as the dichotomy of energy and form. The wave is driven by the energy, while the forms are the fluctuations.

As these organisms, we have the digestive, respiratory and circulatory systems processing the energy driving us on, while the central nervous system sorts through the information precipitating out. Motor and steering.

Galaxies are energy radiating out, as form coalesces in.

As these mobile organisms, we have a sequential process of perception, in order to navigate and have evolved a narrative based civilization, from sharing stories. So we think of time as the present moving past to future, but the reality is that change turns future to past.

Tomorrow becomes yesterday, because the earth turns.

There is no dimension of time, because the past is consumed by the present. Causality and conservation of energy. Cause becomes effect.

Energy is conserved, because it is only present. It creates time, as well as temperature, pressure, color, sound. Frequencies and amplitudes.

Time is frequency, events are amplitude.

So energy, as process, goes past to future, while the patterns generated go future to past.

In a factory, the product goes start to finish, future to past, while the production line goes the other way, consuming material and expelling product.

Lives go birth to death, while life moves onto the next generation, shedding the old.

Consciousness goes past to future, while the perceptions, emotions and thoughts go future to past.

The energy radiates outward, towards infinity. While the forms coalesce inward, toward equilibrium. Both entropic. Thus galaxies as cosmic convection cycles. Aka, feedback loops between the dynamic and the definition.

We fluctuate somewhere between everything cancelling out and everything fading out.

The anarchies of desire versus the tyrannies of judgement. The heart and the head.

So they are going in a useful direction, but just not there yet.
