It does seem the efforts to foment a civil war, to preclude a revolution, are certainly encouraging the mindlessness. More heat than light.

When one's personal grievances are being weaponized in some larger culture war, it's not like the powers that be actually have one's interests at heart. Just ask the Ukrainians.
